A pair of tubular steel cantilever chairs from the 1930s — the kind of functional, no-nonsense design that defined the Functionalist era across Scandinavia and Central Europe. Chrome steel frame, black painted plywood seat and backrest, and the characteristic cantilevered base that gives just enough flex to make them more comfortable than they look.
These have been repainted black over the years and carry marks of use throughout, which at this age feels right rather than wrong. The structure is solid and both chairs are fully functional.
A genuine piece of interwar design history that works just as well today. Price per piece.
