Named the greatest design of the 20th century by Time magazine, the LCW needs little introduction. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1945 and produced by Vitra in Europe, this particular example is upholstered in cowhide over a black lacquered moulded ash shell — a special edition version that is considerably harder to come by than the standard leather or plain plywood versions. The combination of the graphic hide pattern against the dark wood is striking.
Minimal signs of use throughout with some light marks on the back of the backrest as visible in the images. The cowhide is in great condition and the wooden parts are well preserved.
