Designed by Mies van der Rohe for the German Pavilion at the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929, conceived as seating fit for the King and Queen of Spain. Mies based the signature criss-cross frame on the campaign chairs of Ancient Rome, and has been in continuous Knoll production ever since. Nearly a century on, it remains one of the most recognisable chairs in design history.
This is a current Knoll production piece in brown leather produced in 2024. Excellent condition with minimal signs of use. Leather, stitching and frame all pristine.
