Originally designed by Alvar Aalto in 1947, the Armchair 45 has remained in continuous production at Artek ever since. A lacquered birch frame with an open back and brown faux leather upholstery — light, well-proportioned and practical in equal measure. This is a chair that works at a dining table, a desk or in a living room without asking for any particular context. A quiet, dependable piece of Finnish design heritage.
