An iconic piece of 20th-century design, the 'Wassily' chair, originally known as Model B3, was conceived by Marcel Breuer in 1925 during his tenure at the Bauhaus. Inspired by the lightweight structure of bicycle frames, Breuer revolutionized furniture design by replacing traditional bulky forms with a minimalist tubular steel frame and leather straps.

This particular piece, produced by the Italian manufacturer Gavina in the 1960s, features a Rare Dark Brown leather upholstery — a notable deviation from the more common black leather versions. The chair's chromed tubular steel frame remains robust, exhibiting minor signs of age that attest to its authenticity and history.

The leather has been well-maintained, retaining its rich hue and suppleness, with only slight indications of use. One dent is noticeable in the seating area. The original Gavina label is still present, underscoring the piece's provenance.
