Gitte joins the Neighbours area in Habitare 2026

Habitare is the largest design fair in the Nordics, and Neighbours is consistently its most visited and most press-attended space. It has built that reputation by being selective and considered in what it brings together.

The 2026 edition is designed by the Oulu-based architectural firm Arkkitehti Takkunen. Rather than a traditional room setting, the concept takes the form of a nature-oriented courtyard, a space built around experience rather than display. The guiding questions are sensory ones: how light behaves, how materials read up close, how a space makes you feel before you have had time to think about it. It sits within Habitare's broader 2026 theme, Plot Twists, which is about stepping outside familiar frames and staying open to what you find there.

For Gitte, as its only vintage partner, the fit feels natural. Vintage pieces do not exist in isolation. They carry the time they were made in, the people who used them, and the contexts they have moved through. Placing that kind of object inside a space designed around atmosphere and perception is exactly the kind of conversation we enjoy being part of.

See you in September.
